Peter Rabbit childrens books

The new Peter Rabbit book collection
The lovely people at Puffin books have released a short series in time for Christmas based on the Peter Rabbit CBeebies series.
The books see Peter Rabbit and his friends Lilly and Benjamin go on a quest to deliver all their Christmas presents to their friends.

There's 3 books in the series, the first being the little red book called Happy Christmas! (where the pages are made of thick card, so suitable for older babies).  This is the book where Peter and his friends go on an adventure to deliver Christmas presents.  This would make a great stocking filler for very young children.
Next up is the purple book 'The Peter Rabbit Club' where Peter and his friends want to start a club but they need to escape the clutches of Mr Tod who wants to eat rabbit stew for dinner.  At the beginning of the book they've included a lovely map of the woods that Peter lives in with little notes on the people who live there.  In the back there's a cute couple of pages on 'building your own secret clubhouse' using chairs, cushions and a sheet :)

Finally is Peter Rabbit's sticker book called 'Secret Treehouse'.  Inside the middle of the book is a range of different stickers, some are little character stickers (pictured below) with flowers and veg and some tie in with the story for you to build on and interact with, a really lovely touch.

These are a lovely collection of books that are beautifully illustrated and well thought out.  As much as they're all lovely, my favourite has to be the sticker book.  I love that you don't just randomly place stickers, but they play a part in the story, and as you go you get to put stickers like 'friendship badges' in place as little rewards, a really nice touch to help immerse the child in the story.

I can't wait until Squidge is old enough for these, especially the sticker book, I'll have to keep this one back for him :)

The two books retail for £4.99 each, with the sticker book £1 cheaper at £3.99 - so perfect stocking fillers, or inexpensive little treats.  If you think your children might enjoy the Peter Rabbit series, you can visit his club here for activities, games and challenges, and sign up for his newsletter here.
